Rain, cold, night frosts and sometimes sun – the garden has had a tough April so far.
This bad weather has also left its marks: the apricots have frozen, as have some hydrangea leaves, and the fig buds are stagnant.
The pear tree on the south fence is in full bloom, as are the cherry and muscaris.
The daffodils are slowly being replaced by the tulips, some fritillaries appear and at one point we discovered belated crocuses.
After the first week of frost, our camellia got its first blossom – after we had bought an already flowering one in the neighborhood to stimulate it.
We photographed a typical April evening: while dark rain clouds hang in the east, the evening sun shines on the barn-front.
During a break in the rain we picked a spring bouquet to bring the garden a little bit inside.
