Now there is still color in autumn. The sun had to realize that it was autumn and the days – but especially the nights – had become cool.
All we have to do is plant the flower bulbs – warmer days await us.
There is still a lot to harvest:
Figs ripen almost every day and are sweeter than they were in summer. Some tomatoes will still turn red – we hope that a few green ones will do the same. The late apples still have to go to the cellar – we process the fallen ones into strudel apples and applesauce. Our potato harvest was poor again… small but nice!
Like every year, the chard stays outside over the winter – so we can harvest it fresh.
What else is blooming?
An Acanthus has made a mistake in the season and is blooming! The St. John’s wort bush imitated him.
Bluebells and evening primroses don’t give up – and an oleander produces fresh flower buds!
The deep purple of monkshood can be seen from afar.
What’s already blooming?
The first buds of the snow rose are hidden in the leaves, the winter jasmine has its first flowers and the camellia already has a bud!
And of course roses are still blooming everywhere.
