We have had a very frosty dry period for a long time. Sun, clouds and fog are alternating. Neither snow nor rain in sight!

But it seems that there is still enough autumn moisture in the soil to give the bulbs and some early-flowering shrubs enough moisture to bud.

A walk around the garden shows that this development corresponds to the seasonal average.

As always, the leaves of the tulips, daffodils and allium are showing. Some hydrangeas also already have beautiful leaf buds. Snowdrops, Japanese mahonia and our camellia are about to bloom. Love-in-a-mist bush and winter jasmine are at the end of their flowering, while the fragrant snowball is still hesitating this year.
