The chateau park of Lednice in South Moravia, encompassing the area of Valtice Castle, has a total area of 100 ha. The area owned by the Liechtenstein Family for 700 years, was created in the 18th / 19th century according to plans. A huge system of ponds was created, including the rivers Thaya and March, and numerous, mostly romantic, buildings built. The 90-meter long glasshouse built in 1843-45 was the first palm house with an orangery in Europe.

The architect Josef Hartmuth, inventor of the pencil, built some buildings, such as the aqueduct in 1805 and the minaret 1797-1802.

The park can be explored on foot, by carriage, horse riding, by boat or bicycle.
