Summary
An attempt to get in contact with gardening enthusiasts.
We thought!
Months of preparation: planning and purchasing, repotting plants, creating a garden album, printing and framing photos.
In advance, we had chosen with the organizers a beautiful place and get a tent promised and a large lawn.
Best preparation work to say!
And then ….
Half a day of rain, 2 1/2 days of heat and little, but uninterested, visitors.
We can now consider this market as an active holiday or as a team building seminar.
Only: for an active holiday we had too long a passive phase – and a seminar would only have shown that the team Kepler works together great!
BRIEF HISTORY OF SCHLOSSHOF
The Renaissance castle (built ca 1600) was acquired in 1725 by Prince Eugen. He had it converted into a hunting lodge with 7-terraced gardens. After his death it bought Maria Theresa and it remained until 1918 in the possession of the Habsburgs. Later it was rarely used and handed over to the army by Franz Josef I. The Nazis and the Red Army were also stationed there, the condition was correspondingly bad after 1955. Only from mid-1980, the Republic of Austria began with first restoration work. First at the castle and later at the garden, which is gradually being restored to the original plans.
