Apple blossom! The white of the fruit trees and the pink of the ornamental apples are like clouds over the garden, swarmed by bees. The barberries and forget-me-nots are also blooming. The Japanese-maple has recovered from its bout of disease and is once again showing its pale yellow leaves. Globeflowers are also yellow by the pond.
Rhododendron (already!), catnip, bergenia, sedum, azalea, fragrant viburnum, prairie lily, and the first clematis are also blooming, and the ferns are already curling up.
All the potted plants have been moved back into the garden, and everything is as if there hadn’t been a winter.
Six weeks ago, we still had sub-zero temperatures!!!
