February 4th

The warm spring weather continues, so it’s no wonder that the spring flowers are now blooming.
The early bloomers Snowball, Christmas roses, primroses and winter jasmine are full of flowers. The camellia still has a big bud, and the spring roses will soon be ready too.
Hydrangeas and roses are already showing their first leaf buds, and shoots of bulbous plants are sprouting everywhere in the garden – you can almost watch them grow.
All of a sudden the first crocuses and spring knot flowers were there!

Yes – what was written yesterday is already outdated today!
Some of the rosebuds have already turned into leaves, the first spring roses are already blooming, and some bulbous plants are almost fully grown and will soon bloom.

In the meantime, 3 weeks have passed quickly without us finding the time for the article. The persistently mild weather makes us forget that it’s still winter – we feel like we’re in March… and the plants feel the same way. While walking we see goat willow and flowering Cornelian cherry bushes. All the early bloomers in the garden have bloomed, the roses already have leaves and the daffodils already have thick buds.
We finally cut the rose arbor. 6 large garden bags full!
